Steampunk Scholar at Pure Speculation

I'll be presenting two sessions at Edmonton's SF and Fantasy Convention, Pure Speculation. On Saturday, October 3 at 2:30-3:30 I'll be presenting my "Finding Nemo: Verne's Anti-Hero as Original Steam-Punk," and on Sunday, October 4 at 4:00 I'll be presenting on "Steam Wars," my paper on Star Wars steampunk. The convention is very affordable, even for tickets at the door - you can check out all the details HERE at the Pure Spec site.

  1. Awesome! And well done.

Hmm. On the off chance that you attend "Ethics of Human Enhancement" from 12:30 to 1:30, could you let me know how it goes?

  2. I attended both panels at Pure Spec and found them to be both informative and entertaining. It can be hard to do both and I applaud you for it. Congratulations, and here's hoping you'll be presenting at next year's Pure Spec as well.

  4. It was a fabulous panel, and I very much enjoyed seeing how small the world really is (aka running into you again).

I look forward to your review of Airborn by Kenneth Oppel. I just finished the first two books in that trilogy so I'm interested to see how your thoughts compare.

    Cheers.
